Composition

Each 5 g disposable syringe contains:
Ampicillin Sodium B.P. eq. to Ampicillin………………….75 mg
Cloxacillin Sodium B.P. eq. to Cloxacillin ………………200 mg

General

• MELTJET is a combination of two antibiotics: Ampicillin and Cloxacillin.
• These antibiotics work by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering which is essential for the survival of bacteria
• MELTJET Cures Mastitis infection effectively

Indications

MELTJET is indicated for the treatment of bovine clinical mastitis during lactation, caused by E. Coli, staphylococci, streptococci and other invading organisms, even those that are resistant to penicillin.

Dosage and Administration

One MELTJET syringe per affected quarter, to be infused twelve hourly for three consecutive milkings. After milking out the affected quarter (s) clean and disinfect the teat, insert the nozzle into the teat canal and infuse gently by pressing the plunger. After the infusion, massage the udder gently for even distribution.

Contraindications

Meltjet is contraindicated in animals with a history of a previous hypersensitivity reaction to any of the penicillin.

Side Effects

Skin rashes are among the side effects and occur rarely these are either urticarial or maculopapular; the urticarial reactions are typical of penicillin hypersensitivity while the erythematous maculopapular eruptions are characteristic of ampicillin.

Warning

Milk from treated animal must not be consumed until 60 hours after last treatment. Withholding times are based on milking and treatment being carried out on each day.
